The Up with Down Family Support Group is based in Des Moines, Iowa and serves over 150 families in central Iowa.

Up with Down supports families through personal contact and education, and provides a forum to express feelings and work through some of the difficulties that may arise in raising a child with Down syndrome.

The group meets regularly for informal social gatherings, as well as educational meetings. Up with Down provides local hospitals with New Parent Packets and, upon their request, personally visits new parents or contacts them by phone. The group also supplies local libraries with updated books on topics related to Down syndrome.

Up with Down is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization affiliated with the National Down Syndrome Society, guided by a board of volunteers, and supported through fundraisers, member dues and donations.
